Description
The three pearls La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro.
Island hopping over the lowest three smaller islands. A big contrast to the more famous islands such as Tenerife, Gran Canaria Lanzarote or Fuerteventura that everyone knows.
With the very latest volcano, La Palma is a mecca for hikers. La Palma is the third steepest island in the world after Hawaii. But La Palma also has a lot to offer for the less fanatical walker. And we want to show you that!
La Gomera is a smaller variant of Gran Canaria. Wild, Robust with different climates. The villages are generally built in terraces against the mountainside. The island is unique with the Parque National called “Garajonay”. Alto de Garajonay is the highest point and from here you can enter the valley with its ancient forests. Hiking trails predominate here. The language that is whistled here is called El Silbo. This language is not spoken but whistled. This way everyone in the valleys could understand each other through this language. This El Silbo is still spoken by a large number of residents to this day.
El Hierro, the island of Hierro owes its name to the rust-colored coast. Shipmen saw this rust color and called it Hierro. The smallest and last island of the Canary Islands. The ass of Europe! The island is the most authentic and does not live on tourism. If you come to El Hierro, you will get peace and authentic islanders. The weather on this small island has 4 seasons. For example, you can be La Restinga in the south with 30 degrees and 10 km away in clouds, cold wind and rain. Nature has different elements, such as volcanic landscape, juniper forest, pine forest. From barren volcanic plains that change into a rough landscape and a few kilometers further on to the pine forest. El Hierro with the natural baths are a must to see. Beautifully landscaped wooden jetties with stairs where you can go into the azure blue sea. El Hierro is a religious island that is all about La Bajada. The Camino de la Virgen is therefore very important. A pilgrimage that is done by almost the entire population.
