La Aldea de San Nicolás, often simply called La Aldea, is a quiet and authentic municipality located on the west coast of Gran Canaria, one of the Canary Islands. This remote area is known for its natural landscapes and traditional Canarian culture. La Aldea offers a mix of rugged mountains, fertile valleys and a coastline with quiet, attractive beaches with crystal clear water. La Aldea’s economy revolves mainly around agriculture, with tomatoes and bananas being the main crops. The village is also known for its craft products and traditional festivals, such as the annual “Fiesta del Charco”, a colorful event that harks back to pre-Hispanic times and where villagers gather to catch fish in a natural lagoon.
Tejeda, located in the heart of Gran Canaria, is one of the most beautiful village surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. Known as one of Spain’s most beautiful villages, Tejeda offers panoramic views of the island’s iconic Roque Nublo and surrounding mountains. The village is famous for its Dulces, pastries and sweets, with whitewashed houses and narrow cobbled streets inviting for strolls. It is also a hub of cultural activity, with art galleries and craft shops selling local arts and crafts.
