The Montaña Blanca, located on the east side of the El Teide volcano, is an imposing mountain in the middle of Tenerife’s national park, El Parque Nacional del Teide. The park is named after the impressive El Teide volcano, which at 3,715 meters is the highest spot in Spain and is also the largest attraction on the island. The route from Montaña Blanca to El Teide is popular among hikers who want to climb the volcano, because of the beautiful views of the volcanic landscape and nature reserves.

Activity:
Start this activity from the parking lot at the bottom of Montaña Blanca. We climb to the top and descend again on foot to the parking lot of Montaña Blanca.

Directions:
– Kilometers: Total approx. 18.5 kilometers.
– Height difference: a total of 1331 meters of altitude.
– Altitude: 3715 m. max. and 2348 m. min.
– Time:  Total 7 – 8 hours. (Depending on the pace of the group, as well as terrain and weather conditions).

Minimum requirements:
This is a high-level hiking activity not only because of the slope, but also because of the altitude at which we will be walking. You must be in good health and physical condition (regular exercise) that allows you to perform the activity comfortably. Be aware that you will be walking for approximately 7 hours to climb the Montaña Blanca on El Teide.

Important:
This activity is not recommended for children under 16 years of age, pregnant women or people suffering from lung or breathing problems, heart failure or high blood pressure.

Start of this Tour:
8:30 am. We meet at the cable car parking lot in Teide National Park. From this point we drive in private cars (or taxi if rented) to the Montaña Blanca parking lot (it is an area with little or no parking).

It is important to start the climb of the Montaña Blanca well rested.
