The smallest and westernmost island of the Canary archipelago is El Hierro. With its small area of 278 km2, it is also called La Isla Chiquita, or the small island. The island can be reached by a domestic flight from Binter, or via the Ferry from Tenerife.
A long weekend on El Hierro from Thursday to Sunday, with 3 guided walking days and a luxury hotel with breakfast and one dinner on arrival.
Aimed at geology, history and nature lovers who want an organized hiking tour to discover the island in a few days … During this adventure you will see a unique forest of juniper trees formed by the trade winds and the volcanic landscape of the end of the world before the discovery of America; you will hike into a volcano crater and enter a volcanic tube and see the amazingly shaped pahoehoe lava flows; you’ll learn about the history and legends of its indigenous people, the Bimbaches, and discover ever-changing landscapes.

Day 1: Arrival Thursday
Your guide will meet you at the port at 8:15 PM. Transfer by car to the Hotel Balneario Pozo de la Salud, located on the cliff of the El Golfo coastline and the westernmost hotel in Spain.
Check-in and dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.
Day 2: Friday
Transfer by car, and leave for Sabinosa at 09:00.
Visit Orchilla Lighthouse and Acantilado Volcanic Tube. Return via Mirador del Lomo Negro.
Back to the hotel
Hike: Sabinosa-El Sabinar-Santuario Virgin Reyes
Duration: 4 hours
Distance: 8 km
Height difference: 600 up / 200 down
Day 3: Saturday
Transfer by car at 9:00 am to El Pinar via Cumbre and El Morcillo.
Visit La Restinga, the southernmost village in Spain and learn about the submarine volcanic eruption in 2011. Return to the hotel via Mirador Las Playas
Hike: El Pinar-El Tacarón
Duration: 3 hours
Distance: 8 km
Height difference: 70 up / 800 down
Day 4: Sunday
Transfer by car at 9.00am to San Andrés via La Maceta.
Walk: The Water Route, San Andrés-Valverde
Duration: 4 hours
Distance: 9 km
Height difference: 200 up / 600 down
From Valverde about 15 min. transfer by car to El Tamaduste and then to the port.
The guide will leave you there.
