The magic of water

The magic of water is the protagonist in the adventure to the springs of Marcos and Cordero. You will be surrounded by a unique vegetation, you will cross galleries embedded in the middle of the mountain, you will watch the water flow from the rocks, and you will feel the silence in the middle of the humidity of a forest where the green and its whole spectrum live.

The route begins with the ascent of a forest path in our 4×4 vehicles, adapted to the harshness of the terrain, to reach the Casa del Monte, the starting point of the hike at about 1,300 meters altitude. From this place we will enter on foot through one of the most special hiking trails of the island (PR-LP 6), characterized by 13 tunnels carved directly into the rock, to channel and use the water, that used to flow freely through the gorge.

The discovery of the springs, whose fresh and clean water flows out of the rock in an almost magical way, is one of the gifts that nature offers in this area of the island.

Currently, the excursion is carried out from La Casa del Monte to El Manantial de Cordero and back along the same route. Approximately round trip 8,8 kms. The descent to Los Tilos cannot be done due to the landslide suffered in December 2023.
