The Face of the South

 49,00

The Natural Monument of Los Ajaches is one of the oldest geological areas of the Canary Islands.

This barren, rugged and solitary southern mountain range of Lanzarote hides some of the best walks on the island. The landscape is bisected by ravines and hidden valleys and it is unlikely that you will see any other soul except a goatherd. The very scarce human presence makes it a good place to spot vultures, falcons, ravens and other bird spices.

Walking over impressive canyons such as Barranco del Fraile and Barranco del Higueral or reaching the summit of Pico Naos at 422 meters above sea level are some of the highlights of the walk, which together with the ever-present ocean rewards us with very spectacular views in this landscape of dramatic beauty.
