2 | The middle mountains
From Imada you walk via Alto de Garajonay to Chipude. Alto de garajonay is the highest point of La gomera. You walk across a beautiful plateau, through the nature park to the village of Chipude. You pass a part of the GR131 route. During the walk you walk along the table mountain (La Fortaleza de Chipude), along the valleys where in clear weather you can see the surrounding Canary Islands of La Gomera, El Hierro, La Palma, Tenerife and even Gran Canaria is visible. In short, a spectacular walk!
In the afternoon you arrive in Chipude. A small village with a real mountain hotel.

Chipude, the small village that seems to be equipped for the walker. The central point for many walks on La Gomera. Today we stay in Chipude to start a very nice walk from here. You get the choice of two tours. A short and a longer trip.
Distance: 10.3 or 13.5 km
Height difference: +310/920 up / – 310/920 down
4 | The beautiful valley
Departure from Chipude towards Vallehermoso. Again you walk a part of the GR131. You walk mainly downhill and you look out on the romantic valley of Vallehermoso. Vallehermoso is located on the north side of the island in a fertile area with palm trees, vineyards, orange trees and banana plantations. You always walk in sight of the 650 meter high rock “rocque Cano” a remnant of an old volcano.
Just before you reach Vallehermoso you come to a beautiful reservoir past De Embalse de la Encantadora, a reservoir at the top of a valley with hundreds of palm trees.

5 | Trekking to Hermigua
You leave this nice town towards the North coast. First you go up a bit, and then descend towards the coast. And to Agulo, “the bonbon of La Gomera”
Agulo is located between two valleys and is divided into two separate parts, the upper and the lower part. In the second part, closer to the coast, is the old town center, one of the most beautiful in the entire archipelago, with narrow cobbled streets, white-painted houses and characteristic reddish tiled roofs. The owners have vegetable gardens around the houses for their own consumption and thus maintain an ecological and sustainable lifestyle.

6 | Through the heart…
Today is the last day of the 5-day trek. You walk through the center of La Gomera back to Chipude.. In the heart of the Garajonay National Park, in the north of La Gomera, is the picturesque hamlet of El Cedros. Surrounded by a forest millions of years old. El Cedro is a real mountain village with houses that keep the traditional style low-rise, with windows and doors that give a special charm to this rural area surrounded by lush nature. A unique place to have a drink and eat. To talk about El Cedro is to talk about its famous watercress soup, a traditional dish par excellence, which can be enjoyed in the restaurant of camping Las Vistas.
