The GR131 La Gomera Individual Including Luggage Transport!
The ferry takes you from Tenerife to La Gomera to walk the GR131 from the east to the west side of the island within three days. Afterwards you walk for another two days to make it a real ’round’ walk. Everything is arranged during this fully organized trek: the transfers from the airport and during the hike. You don’t have to carry your luggage, because it will be taken from hotel to hotel. We provide you with all the necessary information so that you only have to take one step after the other on an amazing island! Every day ends in a comfortable and carefully selected accommodation, small-scale and clean. La Gomera is the fifth island of the GR131. You walk in the middle of the island through the Garajonay nature reserve with its highest point at 1478 meters. A special feature of the park is the fog, which is more present in the winter than in the summer. In the center of the park is an ancient laurel forest. On La Gomera you have the so-called Silbo Gomero. This is a whistling language “spoken” by some islanders to communicate through the deep echoing valleys (barrancos) that dot the entire island.
During the 5-day walking tour on this beautiful hiking island, you ‘only’ walk 75 kilometers. However, the chance that you will walk this whistling is small, because large height differences have to be bridged! A good condition is therefore recommended.

1| Arrival in San Sebastian
When you arrive at Tenerife airport, our transfer will take you to the port of Los Cristianos. The ferry will take you to La Gomera. In San Sebastián you can recover from the outward journey on the first day. San Sebastián has a nice car-free center with shops and restaurants.
2 | Uphill
The start of stage no. 1 of the GR131 immediately gets off to a tough start. You have to climb a lot, that’s why you don’t make many kilometers this day. When you have arrived at altitude, you can treat yourself to a cooling drink at the restaurant. You go with a transfer back to San Sebastian.

3 | The middle mountains
In the morning, after leaving the accommodation, you will go with a transfer to the place where you ended up. You continue the trip on a very nice part of the GR131 on La Gomera. Don’t forget your camera! You walk to the highest point Alto Garajonay. In the afternoon you arrive in Chipude. A small village with a real mountain hotel.

4 | The beautiful valley
Today the first part goes up and down alternately. Until you enter the Garajonay nature reserve in the middle of the island. From then on the path takes you mostly downhill. Finally you have a magnificent view over the valley with the appropriate name Vallehermoso, ‘beautiful valley’. After a long descent you will arrive at your hotel in a small village. You have reached the terminus of the GR131 today.

5 | The coast
From Vallehermoso you walk towards the coast, but before you really get there you first climb to 800 meters! During the walk you regularly have a beautiful view of Tenerife with the El Teide volcano high above the clouds. It is a strenuous walk, but at the end of the trip you will come home to a comfortable hotel.

6 | Last but not least
This last trip is not the least! Gradually you rise to over 1000 meters. Enjoy this last trip! At the end you will be met by a taxi that will take you back to San Sebastián where you can look back satisfied on a tough walk on a beautiful island.

7 | To Tenerife
In the morning you take the ferry to Tenerife. You can fill the day according to your own needs. You spend another night near the coast.
8 | Return trip
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
