Day 1: Arrival
El Hierro has a small airport with several daily connections to the islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria. There is also a ferry connection to Tenerife from the port of La Estaca (Valverde).
A short taxi transfer will take you to the Parador Hotel, located in the bay of Las Playas. Depending on arrival time, optional walk.
Day 2: Circular walk from Valverde.
The day starts in the capital of the island, Valverde, the only capital of the archipelago at 600 meters. During your first walk, you will discover the history of the water on the island from the past to the future, represented by the mythical sacred tree Garoé, surrounded by its “pools” and by the pilot project of the hydroelectric power station. A circular route with rapid landscape changes from meadows to evergreen forests and patches of red clay.
A transfer by taxi from Valverde will take you back to the Parador Hotel.

Day 3: Hike from the Mirador de la Peña to Tigaday
A taxi transfer will take you to the Mirador de la Peña, overlooking the majestic natural amphitheater El Golfo. From here the road soon runs through the highlands of the Nisdafe Plateau between volcanic cones that traverse the land that sounds. The Mirador de Jinama offers a different perspective on El Golfo and from here the descent to Tigaday begins with impressive panoramic views and extensive laurisilva, the dense true forests of the Tertiary

Day 4: Circular walk from Tigaday
Your walk starts today from your apartment. The route runs through a flat landscape and open countryside. This is an area known for the production of banana, pineapple and various tropical fruits. The visit to the Eco Museum of Guinea and Lagartario offers you a historical view of the island; the village is one of the three oldest on the island and was turned into a museum in the 1980s. From Hotel Punta Grande, the smallest in the world, the path follows the beautiful cliffs of Las Puntas until you reach the natural pools of La Maceta.

Day 5: Hike from El Morcillo to Tigaday.
Today’s route starts, after a taxi transfer, at the Hoya del Morcillo in the heart of the Canarian pine forest. The trail, traditionally used to connect the villages of the island’s two slopes, crosses from south to north, offering a variety of ecosystems and views. The Canarian pine forest soon gives way to the forest of
Fayal-Brezal. You walk across the top of the island, near the highest point, through patches of volcanic ash and with panoramic views to the south until the trail begins to descend towards Tigaday.

Day 6: Hike from the Sanctuary of the Virgen de Los Reyes to Pozo de La Salud.
After a transfer to the Sanctuary of the Virgin, the patron saint of the island and the starting point of the traditional “Bajada”, your walk will begin through the meadows of the “Dehesa” to the Sabinar, the endemic juniper forest that Tradewinds has in incredibly twisted shapes formed . From the Mirador de Bascos, with its breathtaking views of El Golfo, the path goes downhill, in the dense forest of Monteverde, until you reach the picturesque village of Sabinosa, the westernmost in Spain.

Day 7: Circular walk from the hotel.
On the last day of the trip, an easy and interesting hike in a spectacular volcanic area. The walk starts from the hotel and arrives at Arenas Blancas beach, the only one on the island formed by shells pulled inland by the wind and currents, from which a coastal path leads between lava fields, overlooking the cliffs cut by the sea in beautiful basalt arches are sculpted.
